waffle house chat…

So i’m at the waffle house this morning with a friend of mine.  He is moving to Washington DC, with his girlfriend.  I’m talking to them about life and it hit me that we are all “Lottery tickets” scratching to see what is really underneath the gray flaky coating.  We all want to be “crazy 8’s” or three “apples” in a row, but usually we see glimpses of a few mismatched numbers and symbols.  Why are we afraid of our own numbers?  I’m learning that my numbers are connecting with others numbers and that the real “win” is in community, but it so hard to get passed the fact that most of the time, I toss my ticket in the garbage, because I wasn’t an “INSTANT” winner.  So I waste another $2.00 dreaming of instant “success” and million dollar dreams, all the while the people around me are getting coated with my flakes….
