Tonight I ventured to a table tennis club. i’m only beginning to play at a serious level, but it hit me, what’s the difference between ping pong and table tennis? The ball is the same, the paddles are the same, and the table is the same, so what is the deciding factor. I found out in my journey, “intensity” is the difference. People who like to hit around and play every now and again, play “ping pong.” People who play several times a week and know multiple paddle and ball brand names play “table tennis.” I think for quite sometime, our church’s have been environments that facilitate and encourage people to play “ping pong” with their faith, I feel God calling me to take my faith game to the “table tennis” level. The stakes are high, we will lose alot of games, but the victories will be sweet and we will know that we are taking our game seriously…
