Its been a while since I’ve been on here.  Hope everything is going well across the globe.  There’s nothing specific I have to write about, but I’ll throw out this question…

When was the last time you felt like you actually matter?

I share what little I can in the grief of the students and families at VT.  It causes me to think of the following.

When tragedy like this happens in the U.S. why is it more important that Global tragedy.  Do loved ones and families of people that our governemnt kills feel this same grief.  I feel like we in the U.S. have this sense of “Them” and “Us.”  If it happens to us, than its bad and someone has to pay….

If it happens to them, then we pat ourselves on the back for being the great liberators and we stick yellow magnents on our cars……

I know its not that simple, but it feels like that sometimes.  When will our nation learn to become more human and morn with the rest of the world?  When will we realize that killing is not solving any problems?   Can their not be dialogue across cultural lines that allows people space to grow and feel connected?

I’m tired of having to blame someone and reel in a Bad Guy.  Does anyone really feel that much better that this Korean kid killed himself or certain world leaders or dictators are dead?

There was once this guy who did not retaliate with hate and violence, he suffered pain at its deepest level.  In that pain he exposed evil at is core, fueling the fire for a revolution of love.  Maybe our Nation and individuals who sing “God bless America” could take some notes.  Maybe I need to suffer a little, my hope is that as we process tragedy on a human scale we will all begin to share in the suffering together…..bringing us closer to the understanding that we are more connected in our brokeness than we think….

Anyway…I just had to write something.

I’m feeling renewed.  My time away from the institutional church has brought some clarity and much needed perspective.  I began reading N.T. Wright’s Simply Christian this morning and I’m excited about what 2007 has to offer for my journey and theMovement….

Patience is my key learning…. I was moving with lots of steam for theMovement after I left the IMN in California, I felt that I needed to move, so in obedience I left my Job as Full Time Youth Minister at my church in the suburbs of cincinnati…

After several months, God connected me to a Job in “Downtown” Cincinnati, where I am a Video Editor for Zone Communication Group .  I edit a TV show called “Facing Life Hea-On.”

the Movement is still underway, current status is Planning/Technicalities….we have our EIN, Articles of Incorporation for OHIO, and are currently in process with the 501 (c) 3 non-profit status.

My Ideas have taken shape in the form of a catalyst organization rather than a Church plant.  For instance the Movement will strive to be a launching pad for great leaders and other groups, networks and organizations to emerge.

I’m learning patience….please pray for me to stay focused and listen to the wisper of God.  I have been connected to 2 other you fired up individuals that God may have in mind .  I hope that I can bring some wisdom and leadership to the meeting and maybe there is something abrew that I wasn’t expecting….

I won’t be in Orlando, so I’ll miss you guys….but thinking back on Pasadena, I get fueled by the many RHINOs out there willing to wage war on Humanities opposition…..Stay strong, don’t get discouraged, celebrate the small wins you recieve with your friends, family, and neighbors.

The time is now, stay focused for the REVOLUTION of Love is underway!  Remember in the end we WIN.

At this point, I think I’m taking a sabadical from all the Christian “How To” seminars and books.  I think the only way to discover how God wants to use you is to start moving in the area’s He has called you to, work through the muck, and then tell everyone how brilliant you are in ministry…

So I write today, as a symbol of my journey inward (myself) and outward (the community) as I focus on what God has called me to do, not what the rest of the commercial church world is doing.

last Sunday I was ordained as a minister of the Gospel according to the Southern Baptist Tradition.  It was very cool, our church gathered around us, our pastor annointed us, and everyone prayed.  God is opening doors, I currently landed a Job as a part-time video editor, giving me financial freedom and flexibility to keep “theMovement” moving.

With these connections, I wonder about a few questions:

What is really causing church attendance to decrease in America? Or is it?

Are Megachurches really reaching the lost? Or are they simply transfering Christians?

What does the internet and dry erase markers have in common?

Is there a connection between a VOX and a BLOG?
